As part of his role with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ian Nock worked as a Champion representative on a number of IBC Accelerator projects through the summer running up to IBC 2025 in September. One of the key projects that he worked on was the Ecoflow Project which you can find out a little about at https://show.ibc.org/accelerator-project-ecoflow-ii
The project developed a first generation model for energy consumption in live streaming, which is parametrically organised such that it can be used to model any number of different live streaming scenarios. In conjunction with the EBU (another of the key champions), Ian Nock has written a little thing that the EBU tech-i magazine has published. You can find out more about this at https://show.ibc.org/accelerator-project-ecoflow-ii or if you wish you can go direct to the article at https://tech.ebu.ch/files/live/sites/tech/files/shared/tech-i/tech-i-066.pdf#page=15.
